Eheim 3581 Everyday Fish
Feeder

Today's aquariums can be mostly separated into three
categories: high-tech, average, and low-tech. Some products fit nicely into
a low-tech setup, and others are loaded with features and are perfect for
aquarium techies. However, finding a product that is fitting for the average
is aquarium is difficult, and finding a product suitable for all types of
aquariums is nearly impossible. The Eheim 3581 Everyday Fish Feeder is one
of very few products that break the barrier.
This product was awarded the 2009 Best
Product award.

Lifegard Automatic Fish Feeder

Bring
a commercial grade aquarium feeder to your home aquarium
with the Lifegard Automatic Fish Feeder with Expansion
Hopper. Not only is the automatic feeder compatible with
pellet and flake food, but it will also dispense dry
medication as well. The feeder has fourteen available
bins, and with the expansion hopper, the feeder will
dispense food for up to four months, although that puts
your food at risk of spoiling. The automatic feeder is
built with those with high demands in mind, and is built
to last.
Penn-Plax Daily
Double II

If
you are looking for an absolutely straight forward device to
feed your fish on a budget, the Penn Plax Daily Double II
will feed your fish crushed flake or granular food twice
daily. The unit works best on tanks 20 gallons or less,
otherwise you will run in to trouble if you want to mount
the unit on the side of the aquarium glass. The feed drum is
of poor design; you must be careful that the drop tube
remains open and food is near the scoop end otherwise it
will not feed your fish. The Penn Plax Daily Double is best
suited for owners of small aquariums without strict feeding
needs.

Eheim 3582 Twin

Aquariums are becoming more and
more popular these days, and as a result, the
surrounding technology begins to evolve. The Eheim
3582 Twin automatic feeder is a perfect example.
Fish Mate F14

The
F14 by Fish Mate is a feeder that is a little different
from the rest. It is one of few models available today
in the wheel style, and because of the lack of a bulky
rotating drum, it has one advantage above all other
models on the market today: it has the capability to fit
beneath a light fixture above a condensation panel.
Unlike other wheel style feeders, the F14 offers more
control over feeding time. It is battery operated, which
also adds to its compact design. The feeder has an
airline hookup - which is absolutely necessary if your
aquarium evaporates quickly. The feeder is an odd shape,
like a square sided pancake, due to its low center of
gravity. If you are not in need of a feeder in an area
with low clearance, this feeder may not be to your
liking.

Penn-Plax Daily Double Deluxe
The Penn Plax Daily Double Deluxe is built for the simple
aquarium, or stock which needs only a simple diet. The feeder has an airline
hookup for the best system for beating humidity currently available today -
forced air from an air pump. The advertising in some stores can mislead
buyers, as some advertise the product as "programmable", which this feeder
is not. At around $50 USD, the feeder is priced about $10 USD more than our
2009 Best Product, the Eheim 3581. However, if simplicity is your game, this
could be the feeder for you.
